TEGAPEN is a preparation based on the antibiotic penicillin. Its use prevents infections in alcohol production because they cannot be eliminated by other methods.
A 1% solution (e.g. 10 g/l) is used for treatment. The solution should be prepared daily.
TEGAPEN solution is added as soon as the wort has reached the set temperature, before it is pumped into the fermentation vat. The yeast should not be added together with TEGAPEN.
During the distillation of the broth TEGAPEN is completely inactivated, so that no antibiotic activity remains in the bard.
Dosage: Usually 0.5 to 1 g/1000 L of wort. If used regularly and in the absence of infection, a dosage of 0.25 g/1000 liters of wort is used.
Package: 25 Kg cartons
TEGAPEN should not come in contact with foodstuffs. It should be stored separately. After contact with TEGAPEN, hands should be washed thoroughly.
Inhalation of TEGAPEN should be avoided and storage should be arranged to avoid accidental access.
Use gloves and protective clothing when inhaling and in contact with the skin. Protect from heat.
