The earliest Metal Wire gauze packing was invented by Sulzer in 1960s. It is called Gauze Packing’s. Geometry structure will provide large surface area. Wire mesh's capillary function also enlarge surface area's wettability. When filling into column, upper and lower filling trays cross by 90. It has advantages of high effectiveness, low pressure drop and large flow rate. It is used in vacuum distillation, normal pressure distillation and absorption processes of matters hard to separate or thermal sensitive.
