To pump viscous, thick products at food, processing, and oil industries, pumps of different types and operating principles are used. To ensure the process of pumping molasses, molasses, wort, fuel oil, tar oil and other viscous liquids or thick media, gear pumps or a similar design are most often used, where multi-leaf rotors can be installed instead of gears. The advantage of a gear pump is that it provides a continuous flow of fluid, the possibility of reversible operation in various directions, high reliability of the design and ease of maintenance. Also, gear-type pumps can develop relatively high pressure at different performance levels.
