Like any other devices, magnetic level indicators have some limitations on their use. This is especially true for use in viscous media prone to sticking to the internal surfaces of the housing. Also, when choosing an indicator, you should pay attention to the presence of solid suspended particles of the liquid being measured; depending on the size of the inclusions, they can in some cases lead to jamming of the float in the indicator body, which will lead to incorrect display of the liquid level.
The magnetic uniform indicator consists of a bypass chamber (1), connected according to the principle of communicating vessels with the main reservoir (2). The pipes (3) with flanges at the top and bottom of the indicator are connected to the flanges (4) on the tank. Threaded or welded connections are also possible.
With this installation, the liquid level in the indicator chamber corresponds to the liquid level in the main reservoir. Inside the bypass chamber (1) there is a float (5) with a built-in core made of magnetic materials. The magnetic field of the float acts on the magnets in the flags of the magnetic indicator (6), installed outside, turning them. The front and back surfaces of the flags are painted in different colors, above the float the flags are turned on one side, and below the float - on the other, thus, thanks to the contrasting color, the limit of the medium becomes visible.
The shape, size and weight of the float (5) are selected depending on the density of the medium being measured, which also depends on temperature. Therefore, it is important to select float parameters based on the operating parameters of the environment.
